We were a bit skeptical about going into a managed program, but, having owned a boat outright for many years, we had to accept that work and family schedule did not align with independent ownership. Much as we enjoy the maintenance of a boat, we just did not have the time to do it! This is why it really works for us; our yacht, which is moored in Granville, has been exceptionally well managed and maintained, allowing us to spend our limited time sailing.

Just arrived about 30 minutes ago.  We ran into a massive school of Porpoises about 500 metres NW of Entrance Island.  We have never seen so many in one spot.  We had them jumping our bow wake!  That was worth the trip in itself!

James, I have a feeling you should check this out. There is a company in Vancouver that has a 1/4 boat share business. Basically you buy 1/4 share of a new boat and have access to the boat based on the other 3 owners. The vessel is professionally maintained and kept in impeccable shape in Vancouver. All you do is front up the money and arrive in your cab and head out for the Gulf Islands. I have a buddy Bob who was with me on an Advanced course a few years ago to Ucluelet. He bought a 1/4 share of a Bavaria 42 ( 44 I’m not sure) and has been totally satisfied with the arrangement. He lives in North Vancouver and gets all the sailing he can handle in a year. I’m sure he would be happy to answer any questions you may have on the procedures and I will be fine about connecting you guys if you wish to speak with him. I personally know Nuno and he is a man of integrity who runs a successful and reputable business. I will take the liberty of copying him in on this note and putting you guys together. Summer is coming to the West Coast so eat your heart out!
